Bellydance Classes in Oxford

Oxford Middle Eastern Dance Society organises bellydance lessons and classes, parties, performances and workshops in Oxfordshire.

We are a non-profit organisation run by volunteers. Our aim is to promote participation in Middle Eastern dance in the local community by providing quality, affordable classes and arranging dance demonstrations and taster classes. We also aim to support the Oxford dance community through our regular performance opportunitues for dancers of all levels, workshops with well known teachers, and social activities.

We currently offer classes in bellydance up to intermediate level, whilst more experienced dancers also have the opportunity to join our performance troupe, Camels in the Night.

Our haflas take place twice a year in spring and autumn, and feature performances from OMEDS students, teachers, and other local dance groups. We also host smaller parties which include informal performances and social dancing.

We also have a facebook group, where you can post photos from our events.

Winter Term 2012

Our Winter term begins on Tuesday 10th January 2012, and will run for 10 weeks until Thursday 15th March. We're running a full schedule of classes this Spring, from absolute beginner to intermediate level, as well as our American Tribal Style classes, which are suitable for improvers and intermediates. There have been a few changes to the schedule this term, so please have a look at the timetable.
